What’s your reading goal for this year?

I made a goal to read 25 books this year 📚

I missed reading and wanted to motivate myself to squeeze it into my busy day to day schedule 🙃 we are in mid May and I’m starting my 8th book!

If you have a reading goal, what is yours? How many have you read so far?

... Read moreI absolutely love the idea of setting a reading goal for personal growth each year! It's so inspiring to see how many books others aim for and how they fit it into their lives. Often, people wonder, 'What's the recommended number of books to read per year for personal growth?' And honestly, there's no single magic number, but I've found that setting a personal, achievable target can make all the difference. For me, reading isn't just about entertainment; it's a powerful tool for expanding my mind and understanding the world better. Each book offers a new perspective, teaches me something, or simply helps me unwind. When I'm actively working towards a reading goal, I feel more motivated to pick up a book instead of scrolling on my phone. It truly contributes to my overall personal growth, helping me develop empathy and critical thinking skills. So, how do you figure out your recommended number? Start by looking at your current habits. If you haven't read much lately, aiming for one book a month (that's 12 books a year!) is a fantastic start. It builds momentum without feeling overwhelming. If you're already a regular reader, challenging yourself with a higher number, like 25 books, can push you to explore new genres or authors. The key is to make it a goal that excites you, not one that feels like a chore. Remember, the true value for personal growth comes from the insights you gain, not just the page count. Focus on books that challenge your thinking or introduce you to new ideas. Life gets busy, right? Squeezing reading into a packed schedule can feel impossible, but I've discovered a few tricks that help me stay on track with my reading goal for this year. First, I try to schedule dedicated reading time, even if it's just 20-30 minutes before bed or during my lunch break. Having a physical book or my e-reader always with me means I can grab those five-minute pockets of time while waiting in line or during my commute. Audiobooks have also been a game-changer! I listen to them while doing chores, exercising, or driving, turning otherwise unproductive time into valuable reading time. Another tip I swear by is joining an online book club or discussing books with friends. The accountability and the joy of sharing thoughts can keep you incredibly motivated. And don't be afraid to put a book down if it's not grabbing you! Life's too short to force yourself through a book you're not enjoying, especially when your goal is personal growth. It's perfectly okay to move on to something that truly resonates and helps you learn. Tracking your progress, perhaps in a simple journal or an app, can also be incredibly satisfying and keep you motivated. This approach helps me answer the question that's often on my mind, "What's your reading goal for this year?" It's not just about hitting a number; it's about consistently engaging with stories and ideas that enrich my life. I hope these thoughts help you define your own "recommended number of books to read per year for personal growth" and make this year your best reading year yet!
