Donโt tell me NUN ๐๐
Lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what we truly deserve in our lives and relationships. It often boils down to this big question: are we accepting the bare minimum, or are we truly aiming for the 'princess treatment'? For me, the answer has become crystal clear: I don't wanna hear nothin' about settling for less than I deserve! So, what exactly do we mean by the 'bare minimum'? In simple terms, it's meeting the most basic, essential requirements. In a relationship, this might mean basic respect, honesty, and showing up when you say you will. While these are certainly crucial, they're just the foundation. If someone is consistently only doing the absolute least to keep things going, without any extra effort, thoughtfulness, or genuine enthusiasm, that's the bare minimum. It leaves you feeling like an obligation rather than a cherished individual. On the flip side, 'princess treatment' isn't just about lavish gifts or grand gestures (though those can be nice!). It's about feeling truly valued, seen, heard, and cherished. It's when someone goes above and beyond, anticipating your needs, celebrating your successes, comforting you in your struggles, and consistently making you feel special. It's the little things โ remembering your favorite coffee, a thoughtful text during a busy day, or simply making you feel like the most important person in the room. This kind of treatment fosters a sense of security, joy, and deep connection. To help figure out where you stand, here are some questions I've asked myself, and I encourage you to consider them too: Do I feel genuinely appreciated and celebrated, or just tolerated? Are my needs anticipated, or do I constantly have to ask for what I want and need? Does this person/situation consistently bring joy and growth into my life, or does it often feel like a compromise or a burden? Am I making excuses for behavior that doesn't align with how I truly want to be treated? Do I feel like an active participant in my own life, or am I passively accepting what's given to me? Realizing you're getting the bare minimum can be tough, but it's also empowering. Itโs a sign that itโs time to re-evaluate what you truly desire for yourself. For me, setting higher standards wasn't about being demanding, but about respecting my own worth. I truly believe that life is too short to settle for anything less than feeling adored and valued. If you find yourself in a situation where the bare minimum is all you're getting, remember that you have the power to change your narrative. You deserve to feel like royalty in your own life.
