okay right out the gate I wish we had this with our first truly. the tushbaby carrier has become our everyday grab-and-go.
it holds all the things, supports baby’s weight without killing my back (or my husbands, which is saying a LOT), and just makes life easier.
it folds up so nice you can just throw it under the stroller and grab it whenever.
the bottle thing was so nice untillll we started using the munchkin bond silicone coated glass bottles, and now it’s just a pain to use BUT if you have regular bottles don’t worry about it LOL
and if you’re getting one… get the snug attachment. trust me. you’ll want it already clipped in when baby’s squirming in your arms 💛
... Read moreOkay, so in my initial thoughts, I touched on how the Tushbaby hip seat carrier has literally changed our daily routine. But I want to dive deeper into why this carrier became our everyday grab-and-go, especially for fellow parents navigating the postpartum period or just needing an extra hand.
First off, let's talk about back support. As an infant and preschool mom, my back has been through a lot. The Tushbaby isn't just "not killing my back" – it offers a really impressive amount of lumbar support. This was a huge deal for me postpartum when my core strength wasn't quite there yet, and carrying a growing baby felt like a constant strain. The way it distributes baby's weight across your hips instead of pulling on your shoulders or lower back is a game-changer. It means I can comfortably hold my little one for longer periods, whether we're picking blueberries (yes, it's dad approved too!) or just navigating a busy store aisle.
And seriously, get the snug attachment. I cannot stress this enough! It transforms the Tushbaby from a great hip seat into an incredibly versatile carrier. When your baby is squirming in your arms, trying to get them into a carrier can be a wrestling match. With the snug attachment already clipped in, it's so much smoother. Plus, it offers that extra bit of security and closeness, which is perfect for a sleeping baby, even when you're seated at a restaurant. It also surprisingly provides a bit of privacy, which I found helpful for nursing on the go.
Beyond comfort, the practicality of this hip seat carrier is unmatched. I love that it "holds all the things." The large front pocket is surprisingly spacious – I can stash pacifiers, a few diapers, wipes, and even my phone and keys. It's fantastic for those quick errands when you don't want to lug a huge diaper bag. There's even a side pocket, though I'm still figuring out its perfect use, it's there if you need it! And yes, it has a bottle pocket, but just a heads-up, if you use wider, silicone-coated bottles like the Munchkin Bond ones, it might be a tight squeeze. For regular bottles, it’s super convenient.
One of my biggest concerns with carriers is them sliding down, but the Tushbaby genuinely "doesn't. slide. down." It stays securely in place, even when I'm active, like playing mini-golf with my family. It also folds up nice and neat, making it easy to just throw under the stroller or into a backpack when not in use. It's truly been an overall positive experience for our family.
So, if you're evaluating a Tushbaby for postpartum support, daily errands, or just want a comfy way to carry your baby without the bulk of a full wrap or structured carrier, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Just remember my golden rule: the snug attachment is a non-negotiable!
I literally needed this post in my life. I have the tush baby and the snug attachment and wasn’t sure if I would be using it. But it looks and sounds so convenient 🥰
