Creating an original character (OC) for universes like Alien Stage is such a rewarding experience! It's like bringing a whole new personality to life, and frankly, it's one of my favorite ways to engage with a series. When I started conceptualizing Jeon, my goal was to truly immerse him in the ALNST world while giving him a distinct identity that fans would hopefully connect with. Developing a detailed character profile is key, and I always start there. It's not just about their appearance; it's about their entire being. For Jeon, I thought about everything from his age, birthday, and even his specific division within the Alien Stage setting. Thinking about his likes and dislikes, and what skills he possesses, really helps flesh out his personality. I love adding little touches, like his neon blue aesthetic, which helps him stand out and gives him a unique visual signature that I think really pops in a character profile. Then comes the fun part: the visual design! I spent so much time on Jeon's overall look, imagining how he'd appear on a 'Sweet Dream Cafe Admission Card' or as a striking profile picture. His pink hair and blue eyes were a must, giving him a memorable appearance. And, of course, the STAGE OUTFIT! This is where you can really go wild. I envisioned him in a sleek black turtleneck, black pants, and a dramatic black cape adorned with gold chains and a unique gold key-like accessory. It’s those small details that make an OC truly feel complete. Exploring different facets of an OC's life through various art pieces also adds so much depth. Showing him in chibi form, whether exhausted on the grass with a chili pepper thought bubble or happily holding a pink bunny plush, adds layers to his story and emotional range. It helps convey that even in a fantastical world, these characters have relatable moments. Thinking about their unique color palette and how it contributes to their overall Alien Stage aesthetic is also a huge part of the creative process. Sometimes, starting with an 'ALNST OC base' can be super helpful for getting those initial ideas down. Sharing OCs like Jeon with the community is one of the best parts. It’s inspiring to see how others interpret and enjoy your characters, and it opens up so many possibilities for shared storytelling. If you’re thinking about creating your own Alien Stage OC, I highly recommend diving in! It's a fantastic way to express your creativity and become even more connected to the series you love.
