The set lunch menu starts at $21.80 for 1 main and 1 appetiser/dessert, while the 3-course menu comes in at $26.80 for 1 main, 1 appetiser and 1 dessert.

Everything here is pretty buss, my favourite of the mains we had was probably the Yakiniku Don, topped with Angus beef plate and an onsen egg. Their signature Mapo Tofu has a unique, smooth velvety texture that is unlike most mapo tofu I've had. Loved the Szechuan Century Egg and Tofu too, which is a nice alternative for those who may not like mapo tofu!

... Read moreHaving visited Chen's Mapo Tofu multiple times, I can confidently say this place offers excellent value for an authentic Michelin Bib Gourmand experience. The silky smooth mapo tofu stands out with a delicate balance of spice and velvety texture, unlike any I've tasted elsewhere. The Szechuan Century Egg and Tofu appetizer is a surprising alternative with its savory and slightly sweet sauce, making it a great choice for those hesitant about traditional mapo tofu. One of my favorite mains is the Yakiniku Don, featuring tender Angus beef topped with a perfectly cooked onsen egg. The beef is infused with a rich yakiniku sauce that enhances its flavor without overpowering the dish. Another favorite is the Tonkatsu with Kombu Ramen, where the juicy Kurobuta pork cutlet offers a great meat-to-fat ratio and pairs wonderfully with the comforting broth, reminiscent of an elevated zha jiang mian. For those who enjoy a fusion twist, the Cooked Tori Don presents juicy fried chicken in a sweet soy glaze combined with eggplants and cabbage—comfort food at its best, though the chicken can get a bit soggy if not eaten quickly. To round off the meal, I highly recommend topping up $5.90 for their homemade cold brews like Lychee Oolong or Peach Green Tea, offering a refreshing and natural fruity infusion that pairs perfectly with the richer flavors of the meal. Overall, Chen's Mapo Tofu offers a Michelin Bib Gourmand dining experience that is accessible and satisfying, especially for lovers of Asian fusion dishes. The Paragon location is convenient, and the ambiance suits both casual lunches and special meals with friends. If you crave quality at a reasonable price, this set menu starting at $21.80++ is definitely worth trying.
