things I do to make my home cafe more homely🫶🏻

I think the time has passed where people will try home cafes just for the novelty of it. I wanted to bring not just affordability and quality, but a fresh experience ✨ to every customer. Here’s are 3 little things I do which I think matters!

1. I thought about how to make a cosy waiting area for customers. I didn’t think people would want to stand next to the shoe rack so I got a nice spacious camping chair so people could chill and relax and even sip their drinks if they wanted. Plus I think if I wanna do some artisanal overnight oat bowls and toasts this might be the perfect springboard to do that.

2. I always want to be bringing new and novel things to my customers and at least offer them the option of trying smth new. Which is why I decided to try and collab with other bakeries to pair with my matcha. Whether that gains traction or not, I shall see! Right now I’m doing a SG60 Themed bundle with The Daily Staples, a bakery based in the north 🙌 (very far away from my Telok Blangah based cafe!)

3. When I was working in Sbux I loved the little touch of writing messages on cups. I’ve done the same to my drinks too. My cafe is all about helping people feel good when they drink it, through the aesthetics and health benefits of the drink. And I really do appreciate every order that comes in and hope they love the drinks as much as I do! 🫶🏻✨

... Read moreCreating a cozy home cafe goes beyond just good drinks; it’s about crafting an experience. I picked a foldable camping chair from Muji to provide a comfy spot for guests to relax, reflecting the importance of a chill waiting area. Playing soft, calming music complements the cozy vibe and helps customers feel at ease. Collaborating with home-based bakeries from distant neighborhoods adds delicious variety and brings unique treats to my cafe. This not only supports local bakers but gives my customers something special they can’t find elsewhere in the community. It’s a way to share love and promote small businesses. One of my favorite touches is the handwritten notes on cups, inspired by my time at Starbucks. These little messages create a connection and show appreciation for each order, making guests feel truly valued. For those looking to create a cozy home cafe, select elements that inspire comfort and novelty. Integrate natural, soft lighting and consider sharing freshly curated menu items like overnight oat bowls or artisanal toasts to elevate the experience. Every thoughtful detail contributes to making your cafe corner a uniquely inviting retreat in your home, just like mine.
