🌾 Focused on What Matters Friday 🌾

Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey

🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

It’s so easy to get pulled in a thousand directions.

Deadlines.

Notifications.

Laundry.

Opinions.

Expectations.

To-do lists that somehow multiply overnight.

And before we know it, we’ve spent our whole week focused on what was urgent…

but not necessarily what was eternal.

Jesus gently reminds us…

Matthew 6:33 ~

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Not seek first approval.

Not seek first productivity.

Not seek first perfection.

Seek Him first!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

When we focus on what truly matters …

His presence,

His voice,

His Word,

His will…

everything else finds its proper place!

The dishes can wait five more minutes while you pray.

The phone can stay silent while you read Scripture.

The world can spin without your constant striving.

But your soul?

It thrives when it is centered on Him!! 🙌🏼

Today, take a breath.

Realign your heart.

Ask yourself…

🤍 What have I been magnifying this week?

🤍 Is it drawing me closer to God… or distracting me from Him?

Let this Friday be a reset.

Less noise.

More Jesus.

Less comparison.

More calling.

Less pressure.

More peace.

Because when we stay focused on what matters most…

everything else fades into its rightful place.

Lord, help me quiet the noise around me and within me. Realign my heart when I get distracted. Teach me to seek You first in all things. Let my focus reflect my faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!!

... Read moreIn the busyness of modern life, it's all too common to feel overwhelmed by never-ending tasks and pressures. From personal experience, I’ve learned the profound impact of intentionally setting aside moments to focus on what truly matters. This practice doesn’t just bring temporary relief—it shifts how we approach challenges and relationships throughout the week. One practical approach is carving out quiet time each day for prayer and reflection, much like the encouragement from Matthew 6:33 highlights: seeking the kingdom of God first. It can feel daunting at first—especially with the constant barrage of notifications and responsibilities—but making that effort nurtures our soul, helping us gain clarity and renewed peace. I remember a particularly hectic week when deadlines and distractions threatened my sense of calm. Choosing to pause and read scripture, even for just a few minutes, realigned my heart and perspective. Rather than feeling pulled in all directions, I felt a growing ability to prioritize and find serenity amidst chaos. Moreover, placing spiritual priorities above flawless productivity or social approval prevents burnout and fosters authentic growth. When we focus less on comparison or perfection, and more on God’s presence, we embrace our unique calling and experience more peace in our daily rhythm. Taking time to ask yourself, "What have I been magnifying this week?" can reveal whether your focus draws you closer to God or distracts you. Letting Friday be a reset day to minimize noise, increase intentionality, and deepen faith cultivates a more fulfilling life balance. This intentional focus is not about neglecting responsibilities but ensuring they fall into their rightful place, supporting a life centered on faith, purpose, and peace. The dishes, phone, and to-do list can always wait a few minutes longer when your soul is thriving in connection with God. It’s a simple yet powerful shift that enriches both our spiritual journey and everyday living.
