🌾How Did Mary Make It Through Monday?🌾

Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey

🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

As a mom… I’ve often wondered…

How did Mary make it through that Monday?

Just days after the cross.

Just days after watching her son suffer… struggle… and die.

Just days after the sky went dark… and everything felt like it ended.

Can you even imagine the weight in her chest?

The silence.

The questions.

The ache of “God… why?”

Because she knew who He was…

She knew He was the Son of God…

And yet… she still had to stand there and watch Him be crucified.

That kind of pain doesn’t just disappear overnight.

So what did Monday look like for Mary?

It probably didn’t look like victory.

It probably didn’t feel like hope.

It probably felt heavy… quiet… and broken.

But here’s the truth…

God was still there! 🙌🏼

Even in the silence…

Even when heaven seemed still…

Even when nothing made sense…

God was working behind the scenes!

John 16:20 ~

“Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.”

Sunday came...

The stone was rolled away.

The grave was empty.

And everything that felt lost… had been redeemed.

And maybe… just maybe…

That’s where you are right now.

In a “Monday” moment.

Where it hurts.

Where it’s quiet.

Where you’re wondering how you’re going to make it through.

Friend… hear this gently…

The same God who carried Mary… is carrying you.

You may not see it yet…

You may not feel it yet…

But He is moving… even now!

Lord…

For every heart sitting in a Monday moment right now…

Wrap them in Your peace.

Remind them that silence does not mean absence.

Give them strength to stand… even when it hurts…

And faith to believe that their Sunday is still coming.

In Jesus’ name… Amen! 🤍

If Mary could make it through her Monday…

So can you.

Because what looks like the end…

Is often where God begins His greatest miracle! 🙌🏼

... Read moreReflecting on Mary’s experience after the crucifixion, it's clear that her journey was not about instant relief but enduring faith in the midst of deep sorrow. As a mom myself, I find her story incredibly relatable—facing a 'Monday' that feels unbearable, when the weight of loss presses heavily on the heart. Her pain was real and raw, the ache of watching her son suffer and the silence that followed could have easily swallowed her hope. Yet, despite the darkness, she held onto something deeper: the knowledge of who Jesus was and the promise of what was to come. In my own life, I've faced those 'Monday' moments—times when circumstances seemed hopeless and the future uncertain. Like Mary, the way forward wasn't through immediate victory but through quiet perseverance and faith that God is working behind the scenes, even when it feels like He is silent. This teaches us that grief and struggle often precede transformation and healing. John 16:20 captures this beautifully, reminding us that although we may weep and mourn now, that grief can turn to joy. Mary’s Monday was heavy and full of questions, but it set the stage for a miracle beyond what anyone could have imagined. For anyone reading this who feels stuck in a painful 'Monday,' remember that silence does not mean absence. God’s presence is constant, even when it’s not obvious. Taking small steps like prayer, reflection, and reaching out to a supportive faith community can be lifelines. Incorporating these insights into daily life has helped me find peace when the path is unclear. Holding onto this hope shifts the focus from despair to expectancy—sure that, like Mary, we too can emerge from our difficult days into a new beginning and joy. So, if you’re in a place of brokenness or uncertainty, take heart. What seems like an ending often marks the beginning of God’s greatest work in your life. Lean into that faith, and know you’re not alone on your journey.
