Joshua 1:9 ~
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Fear has a funny way of making us stand still.
It whispers…
“What if you fail?”
“What if you’re not qualified?”
“What if it doesn’t work out?”
“What if you’re not enough?”
Before long, we find ourselves stuck… not because God hasn’t called us forward, but because fear has convinced us to stay where we are.
But God never called us to live controlled by fear!
He called us to walk by faith.
Notice that God didn’t tell Joshua to be fearless because the journey would be easy.
He told him to be courageous because God would be with him.
That’s the difference.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear.
Courage is taking the next step even when fear is present! 🙌🏼
Friend, there may be something God is calling you to do today.
A conversation.
A ministry.
A dream.
A step of obedience.
A fresh start.
You don’t need to have every answer.
You don’t need to see the entire path.
You simply need to trust the One who is walking beside you! 🙌🏼
Don’t let fear talk you out of what God is calling you into.
Take the next step.
Move forward.
Trust God.
And watch what He can do through a willing heart! 🙌🏼
Father, help me move forward in faith instead of shrinking back in fear. Give me courage to take the steps You are calling me to take, even when I feel uncertain. Remind me that I am never walking alone because You are always with me. Strengthen my heart and guide my path. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

What step of faith have you been putting off because fear keeps speaking louder?

Fear often holds us back from pursuing the plans and dreams we feel called to follow. Yet, through my own experience, I've learned that fear is natural but should never be the controlling force in our lives. The message from Joshua 1:9—"Be strong and courageous...for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go"—reminds me that courage is not about the absence of fear, but choosing to move forward regardless. In my journey, I faced moments of hesitation before undertaking new opportunities, such as starting a ministry or engaging in meaningful conversations. What really helped was focusing on faith and trusting that God walks beside me in every step, even when the path seems unclear. I found that embracing this helped transform anxiety into motivation. Taking small, faithful steps daily, rather than waiting for perfect conditions or complete certainty, empowers us to overcome the "what ifs" that fear whispers. Whether it’s a fresh start, a dream, or a step of obedience, moving forward with trust builds resilience and opens doors that fear keeps shut. Prayer and reflection have been vital resources in this process. Asking for courage and guidance, as shared in the reflection prayer, provides inner strength and peace of mind. Engaging regularly in self-reflection on what steps I have delayed due to fear also helps me recognize and confront these blocks. This approach to living fearlessly forward – inspired by faith and courage – is not just a motivational idea but a practical way to live each day empowered. It invites us to engage fully with the opportunities God places before us and to trust in His presence to guide every step. Ultimately, courage leads to growth, breakthroughs, and fulfilling the divine purpose we are called to fulfill.
