Matthew 11:28 ~
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Our world celebrates busy…
God celebrates abiding! 🙌🏼
We often feel like we have to earn our rest…
Finish one more project.
Clean one more room.
Answer one more message.
Cross one more thing off the list.
But Jesus offers something different…
He simply says,
“Come to Me!”
Not after you’ve figured everything out…
Not after you’ve fixed every problem…
Not after you’ve become “good enough…”
Just…
Come! 🙌🏼
There is something beautiful about sitting quietly in God’s presence with no agenda except being with Him.
No striving…
No performing…
No pretending…
Just resting in the arms of the One who already knows every burden you carry.
Friend, your soul was never designed to run without stopping.
God built Sabbath into creation because He knew we would need moments to breathe deeply and remember Who is carrying us.
Today, lay your worries at His feet…
Open your Bible…
Pour a warm cup of coffee or tea…
Break a piece of fresh bread…
Sit with Jesus…
Let His peace quiet every anxious thought…
Because the greatest gift you can give your soul today isn’t more productivity…
It’s His presence! 🙌🏼
Father, thank You for inviting me into Your presence. Help me release every burden I’ve been carrying and find true rest in You today. Refresh my heart, renew my mind, and remind me that Your presence is where my soul finds peace. Thank You for walking with me every day of this journey. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

What burden do you need to leave at Jesus’ feet today so you can truly rest in His presence?

Taking time to rest in God’s presence is more than just a pause from our busy lives—it’s a soul-renewing practice that brings deep peace and spiritual refreshment. From personal experience, setting aside even a few minutes each day to simply sit quietly, read Scripture, and pray has transformed moments of anxiety into calm assurance. The verse Matthew 11:28 offers a beautiful invitation that resonates deeply: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This isn’t a call to earn rest, but an open invitation to receive it freely. I’ve found that incorporating simple rituals—like pouring a warm cup of tea and breaking fresh bread—helps create an atmosphere conducive to true Sabbath rest. It's about more than stopping work; it’s about intentionally abiding with God without any pressure to perform or fix everything immediately. This practice reminds me that God is carrying my burdens, and I can release my worries at His feet. Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God," also encourages this stillness. When life’s demands seem overwhelming, making room for these quiet times prevents burnout and allows my soul to breathe, reconnecting me with the source of all peace. Resting in God’s presence isn’t passive—it’s an active trust that His grace is sufficient and His love never fails. For those struggling with constant busyness or feelings of inadequacy, I encourage embracing this divine invitation to Sabbath rest. It’s a beautiful way to reset, rejuvenate, and experience the peace your soul longs for.
