🤍SHUT THE GATE🤍
Luke 10:19 ~
“Behold, I give unto you power… over all the power of the enemy.”
There’s a phrase you’ll hear pretty quickly around a farm…
“Did somebody shut the gate?” 😂
Because an open gate can turn into a whole mess FAST.
Animals get out.
Things that don’t belong can get in.
And suddenly everybody is running across the pasture trying to fix what could have been prevented by simply closing the gate.
And whew…
That’ll preach! 🙌🏼
Because some of us have been asking God to remove things that He has already given us the authority to shut the gate on.
Fear keeps wandering in…
Shut the gate.
The enemy starts whispering that you’re not enough…
Shut the gate.
Your past tries to convince you that nothing has changed…
Shut. The. Gate.
Walking in authority doesn’t mean you’ll never hear the enemy knocking.
It means you finally understand…
You don’t have to let him in! 🙌🏼
Jesus has already given you authority over the enemy!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
That means every thought doesn’t deserve access to your mind…
Every opinion doesn’t deserve access to your heart…
Every distraction doesn’t deserve access to your calling…
Every attack doesn’t deserve a seat at your table…
Some things need to meet a CLOSED GATE! 🙌🏼
And maybe that’s where somebody has been struggling.
You’ve been praying…
“Lord, give me peace.”
And God is saying…
“Stop opening the gate to what keeps stealing it.”
You’ve been praying…
“Lord, help me walk confidently in my calling.”
And He’s saying…
“Stop allowing the enemy to trespass on ground I already gave you.”
Woman of God…
You are not standing in that field powerless! 🙌🏼
You belong to Jesus!! 🙌🏼🙌 🏼
You carry His Word! 🙌🏼
You have access to His presence!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
And through Christ, you have been given authority to stand your ground!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
So today…
Check the fences…
Guard your heart…
Take those thoughts captive…
And when the enemy comes wandering toward territory that belongs to God…
SHUT THE GATE!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Jesus, thank You for reminding me that I do not have to live intimidated by the enemy. Teach me to recognize the places where I have allowed fear, doubt, distraction, and lies to enter. Give me wisdom to guard what You have entrusted to me and courage to stand firmly on Your Word. Today I choose to walk in the authority You have given me through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍
💚Reflection💚
What “gate” in your life needs to be closed today… and what have you been allowing access to something God told you to guard?
🧺Bread Basket🧺
You wouldn’t leave the farm gate wide open and then wonder why everything got loose.
Guard your spiritual gates the same way! 🙌🏼
Not everything deserves access to the field God has entrusted to you.
Protect the seed. Guard the field. Shut the gate. Walk in authority!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

As someone who has navigated seasons of uncertainty and spiritual battles, I've found the metaphor of 'shutting the gate' incredibly powerful for maintaining peace and authority in my life. Just like on a farm, leaving gates open can lead to chaos—similarly, allowing fear or negative thoughts to roam freely can disrupt our spiritual well-being. In my experience, shutting the gate means consciously choosing what to let into my mind and heart. When I start feeling overwhelmed by doubt or old insecurities, I remind myself that I already have the authority through Christ to refuse those intrusions. It’s not about ignoring reality but about standing firm on God’s promises and refusing access to negativity. A helpful practice has been regular reflection and prayer focused on identifying which 'gates' I tend to leave open. For example, comparing negative self-talk to an open gate helped me realize how often I unintentionally welcomed fear by entertaining unhelpful thoughts. From there, I started to 'shut the gate' by replacing those thoughts with scripture and affirmations of my identity in Christ. Moreover, this lesson encourages vigilance—just as a farmer checks fences daily, we too can monitor our spiritual boundaries by staying connected to God through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship. These habits act like sturdy fences protecting the field God entrusted to us. Ultimately, walking in authority is a daily decision to guard your heart and calling. It’s empowering to know that through Jesus, we’ve been given the power not to live intimidated by the enemy but to stand our ground confidently. This mindset shift transformed my relationship with challenges and helped me experience more peace and purpose. If you’re facing persistent fear, doubt, or distractions, I encourage you to pause and ask yourself: "What gate in my life needs to be closed today?" Taking that step to firmly shut that gate can be the turning point in reclaiming your spiritual authority and walking boldly in your calling.
