🌾TROUGH-FILLING TUESDAY🌾

Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey

🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

🤍You can’t live today on what filled you yesterday🤍

John 6:35 ~

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger…”

Every morning on a farm, somebody has to check the trough.

It doesn’t matter that it was full yesterday.

The animals ate…

The water was used…

The day passed…

And morning brings a fresh need.

Nobody walks past an empty trough and says,

“Well… I filled that thing Tuesday of last week.” 😁

You fill it again…

And again…

And again…

Because what is living needs to be continually nourished! 🙌🏼

And friend…

so does your soul!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Sometimes we wonder why we’re spiritually exhausted while trying to survive on something God gave us three months ago.

We remember that sermon…

That worship service…

That Bible study…

That breakthrough…

That moment when God spoke so clearly…

And those moments matter! 🙌🏼

But Jesus never intended for yesterday’s encounter with Him to replace today’s relationship with Him!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

The Israelites received fresh manna each morning.

Not because yesterday’s provision wasn’t good…

but because God was teaching them…

Come back to Me daily! 🙌🏼

Maybe you don’t need another big breakthrough today.

Maybe you just need to pull up to the trough…

Open your Bible…

Turn the noise down…

Talk to Jesus…

Sit with Him long enough to be filled again…

Because you cannot continually pour encouragement, patience, love, wisdom, ministry, motherhood, friendship, leadership… or anything else…from an empty soul! 🙌🏼

Jesus, I don’t want to know You only through yesterday’s experiences. Give me a fresh hunger for Your presence and Your Word. When my soul becomes empty, remind me where my Source is. Fill me today with what I need for today, and teach me to return to You again tomorrow. Thank You for being the Bread of Life that never runs out. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

💚REFLECTION💚

Have you been intentionally allowing Jesus to fill you lately, or have you been trying to live on yesterday’s bread?

🧺 BREAD BASKET🧺

Yesterday’s bread was good.

But Jesus has something fresh for you TODAY! 🙌🏼

... Read moreLiving in the rhythm of daily spiritual nourishment has transformed the way I approach my faith and everyday challenges. Just like a farmer who checks the trough every morning to ensure animals have fresh food and water, I've learned to intentionally seek a fresh encounter with Jesus each day. This daily practice helps me avoid the trap of relying solely on past spiritual experiences, which, while meaningful, are not meant to sustain us indefinitely. The metaphor of the trough at New Life Farm is powerful. It illustrates the essential truth that what fed us yesterday won’t automatically fuel us today. Spiritually, I’ve realized that my soul requires ongoing filling. Whether it's a quiet moment reading the Bible, a heartfelt prayer, or reflective worship, these daily refills are what energize me to love, lead, and serve with patience and grace. One thing that deeply resonates with me from the article is the reminder that Jesus is the Bread of Life who never runs out. Just as the Israelites received fresh manna each morning, I am encouraged to come back to God daily, not just for emergency sustenance but for constant growth and renewal. This daily feeding keeps my soul aligned with God’s purpose and my spirit invigorated to face daily life. Moreover, intentionally turning down the noise of daily distractions to spend time with Jesus creates a space where I can be refilled. It’s not about big spiritual breakthroughs every day but about the consistent, steady intake of God's word and presence. When my soul is nourished, I find that I can extend love and patience to others much more freely. For anyone feeling spiritually drained or trying to live on past experiences, I encourage you: draw near to Jesus again today. Open your Bible and sit quietly with Him, allowing your soul to be replenished just as the trough is filled every day on the farm. This daily habit has been life-changing for me and can be for anyone seeking deeper faith and resilience in their spiritual walk.
