🤍You Can’t Keep Pouring From a Dry Well🤍

Isaiah 12:3 ~

“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”

There’s something about an old well on a farm.

From the outside, it may not look like much. A weathered cover. An old bucket. A rope worn from years of being lowered and pulled back up.

But the value of the well was never determined by what you could see above the ground.

Its value was in what it was connected to beneath it! 🙌🏼

Whew…. Read that again.

Because somebody needs that reminder today.

You’ve been pouring…

Pouring into your family…

Pouring into your work…

Pouring into people who need you…

Pouring encouragement…

Pouring prayers…

Pouring strength into everybody else’s cup…

And somewhere along the way, you forgot something…

Even the bucket has to go back to the well.

Jesus never asked you to manufacture enough strength to sustain everybody around you.

He asked you to stay connected to Him! 🙌🏼

Maybe that’s why you’re tired.

Not because you don’t love God…

Not because you aren’t strong…

Not because you’re failing…

Maybe your bucket has simply been above ground too long.

You’ve been giving out what God poured into you yesterday while barely stopping long enough to receive what He wants to pour into you today.

Friend, go back to the Well.

Before you answer everybody else… sit with Jesus.

Before you carry another burden…give Him yours.

Before you try to figure everything out… open His Word.

Before you pour another drop… lower your bucket.

Because when your source is Jesus, you aren’t limited to what you can produce on your own! 🙌🏼

There is more grace…

More strength…

More wisdom…

More peace…

More joy…

And here’s the beautiful part…

The Well hasn’t run dry.

Maybe you feel empty.

But your Source isn’t.

So today, don’t apologize for needing to be filled again.

Draw deeply…

Sit longer…

Pray honestly…

Open the Word…

And let Jesus replenish the places you’ve been pouring from.

Because the people around you don’t need a woman who’s exhausted herself trying to be everyone’s source.

They need a woman who knows where her Source is! 🙌🏼

Jesus, I confess that sometimes I pour and pour until I have nothing left. Teach me to come back to You before I become empty. Fill the dry places in me with Your presence, Your peace, Your wisdom, and Your strength. Remind me that I was never meant to be the source… You are. Today, I lower my bucket again. Fill me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

💚Reflection💚

Where have you been trying to pour from a place God is asking you to let Him refill?

Your strength isn’t found in how much you can carry.

It’s found in how often you’re willing to return to the Well.

... Read moreReflecting on the metaphor of the well and the bucket, I’ve learned that maintaining my spiritual and emotional well-being requires regular renewal and connection to my source of strength. It’s easy to get caught up in daily responsibilities, pouring energy into work, family, and community, but like an old well on a farm, the true value lies beneath the surface where the water flows continuously. I remember a particularly draining season where I kept giving and giving, expecting myself to produce endless support and encouragement for everyone. I hadn’t stopped to lower my bucket back into the Well to draw fresh water—my spiritual nourishment. The exhaustion was real and nearly overwhelming. Then, I took a deliberate pause, spent time in prayer, read scripture, and allowed myself to be replenished by faith. This practice isn’t about weakness; it’s about wisdom. When you stay connected to the divine Source, you gain more grace, peace, wisdom, and joy than you could muster on your own. Taking moments to sit quietly, offering your burdens to Jesus, and opening the Word can transform fatigue into renewed strength. The Psalmist’s wisdom resonates: "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." This reminds us that joy and salvation are truly found in returning to that sacred well, even when above ground appearances suggest dryness. I encourage anyone feeling worn out to remember: you’re not meant to be the endless source of strength for others. Instead, know where your true Source is. Lower your bucket again, and draw deeply. This replenishment is a daily act of faith that sustains us, enabling us to pour out blessings to those we love without running dry. In moments of reflection, ask yourself where God is inviting you to pause and let Him refill your cup. Your strength is measured not by what you can carry once but by how often you return to be renewed.
