I think I’ve officially entered my home renovation era…😂😂 Every time I open Pinterest, I find one more thing I want to change. Instead of rushing into renovations, I’ve been creating before-and-after mockups to see if the vision actually works… and now I’m obsessed.
Here’s everything that’s next on our home makeover wishlist:
🤍 New White Oak Floors Throughout
The first thing has to go? The mismatched flooring. We bought an older home that was “flipped” and we are slowly un-flipping it. We replaced the floors in the guest room from this darker grey-brown to a medium warm oak….and now I want one continuous warm white oak floor throughout the entire house so every room flows together. It’ll instantly make the home feel brighter, larger, and so much more custom.
🤍 Framed Entryway Tile
Instead of a regular runner rug, I’m dreaming of a full-length inset tile entry framed by the wood flooring. It gives such a high-end custom home feel the second you walk through the front door. This is an inexperience (depending on the tile you choose) way to really elevate your home.
🤍 Arched Hallways & Doorways
This might be my favorite transformation. Replacing the builder-grade square openings with soft arches completely changes the character of the house. It’s amazing how one architectural detail can make a home feel timeless. This is next on my list for sure!
🤍 White Oak Interior Doors + Front Door!
Goodbye white builder doors. 👋🏼
Hello beautiful white oak doors with matte black hardware throughout the entire house. They add so much warmth and instantly elevate every hallway. The doors in our home are original and 100% need to be switched out. Hoping to do this next year 🤞🏼
🤍 Marble Stone Kitchen Backsplash
I’m obsessed with the idea of bringing natural stone into the kitchen. A soft marble-look stone backsplash would add texture, warmth, and make the whole kitchen feel so much more custom.
🤍 Board & Batten Details
Adding vertical board detailing to the island and the kitchen wall is such a simple change, but it gives the space so much character. Sometimes it’s the little architectural details that make the biggest difference. This will for sure happen before the end of the year 🫢
Honestly… seeing these mockups makes me even more excited to slowly transform this house into something that feels uniquely ours. 🤎 I can’t wait to look back at the “before” photos one day.
