4 Things I’ve Learned on my Creator Journey
So I’ve been doing content creation on & off since covid. These are 4 things that I’ve learned through the past 5 years & also the reason that I am still working to be monetized & financial free through social media.
1. When I’m consistently posting & interacting? I tend to see my views & engagement go up. It’s when I start slacking and post once a week or once every 2 weeks that my views & engagement decline DRASTICALLY.
2. I had to learn that sometimes, my content may be cringe to me, but there’s someone in the world who will LOVE it. So, I just gotta post the content. No matter how I feel about it, I just post it. Sometimes? It does amazing, & other times it flops. Each time? I posted something which leads back to number 1: CONSISTENCY.
3. I struggle with this one STILL. I have a BAD habit of seeing where everybody else is on their journey & I compare myself & my content to theirs. This typically leaves me frustrated & discouraged that I haven’t made my mark yet. So daily, I remind myself: my journey is MY journey. I will reach my goals when God sees fit. Until then, I will keep working, striving, & pushing to be my best self.
4. My friend told me the other day “I enjoy your GRWM & all that … but I wanna see more of YOU on the camera.” I didn’t understand until I started rewatching my videos. It’s very few videos where you actually get to see me & my personality shine in my videos. Mainly because in my GRWM & things, I’m just basic. But my true raw personality is anything but basic 😂 so I’ve vowed to show more of me in my upcoming videos!
There’s more that this journey has taught me, but these are the top 4 because these are the ones I really really gotta get together. What’re some things you’re working on in your creation journey? #contentcreatorjourney #contentjourney #contentcreatoradvice #contentoptimization
Embarking on a content creation journey can be both exciting and challenging. Many creators find themselves grappling with consistency, as regular engagement often correlates with increased visibility and interactions. The transformation of social media has amplified the need for authenticity; embracing your unique voice can resonate deeply with your audience. Numerous creators report that their most heartfelt, unedited content often garners the most appreciation, even when it initially feels cringe-worthy to them. It's also vital to understand that comparing oneself to others can lead to discouragement. Every creator’s path is unique, shaped by personal experiences and challenges. In the world of content creation, finding a niche is crucial. Many successful creators share their journeys openly, whether it's through vlogs, tutorials, or honest discussions about their struggles. Engaging viewers with behind-the-scenes insights can cultivate a loyal following as audiences appreciate transparency and vulnerability. Over time, this approach often turns casual viewers into dedicated fans. As social media trends evolve, being adaptable and willing to experiment with new formats or content styles can also be beneficial. Embracing change while remaining true to yourself is key to long-term success in this ever-changing digital landscape.
