Hotel Rant!! 🤬
Ok so listen I work at a hotel as a housekeeper and I understand that cleaning the rooms and bathroom is part of my job however I see things and I have to ask WHY???
1. Parents I get kids are messy however letting them smash food into the carpet isn't necessary or letting them eat in the beds (with white bedding) and staining the crap out of it.
2. Hotels are suppose to be relaxing for the guests. They don't want to check into a hotel and pay almost $200 or more a night just to have people (mainly kids) slamming doors, running down the hall and screaming. yes i get that is in a kids nature but parents have more controll.
3. Coming to hotel doesnt mean to come trash it like it's a party house. I've walked into rooms and all the bedding and towels are stained (which you can be charged for that). I've also seen a room or 2 where some guests completely rearrange the room which means we have to put it back together. I don't think people fully understand that as a housekeeper we only get 30 min per room which I can do a room in 20 min. I clean the room regardless on how messy it it. I will clean it like it's gonna be my room im staying in.
4. STOP CRANKING THE HEAT ALL THE WAY UP BEFORE YOU LEAVE!! ITS UNCALLED FOR!!
5. Is it really necessary to smear soap, conditioner or body wash all over the shower or shower doors? NO!!
6. The microwave and ice bucket ARE NOT trash cans!
7. If possibly don't try to check in before 3pm. That time is given for a reason. It literally gives the housekeepers enough time to do their job.
8. Stop opening the window!! If you open the windows and don't close it then obviously you were doing something in the room you shouldn't be doing!
9.I'll say is when you are checking out turn your room key or keys into the front desk it only helps the housekeepers!!
As I said before yes I know as a housekeeper it's my job to clean up, but after doing this for awhile people really have shown me how gross and disgusting and disrespectful people can be towards hotels and the employees. Now if you have made it this far Thank-you! Ohh one last thing!!! Before you check out leave a tip for the house keeper even if it's $1. At least show them they matter because even that $1 or even $20 will brighten up their day!!

Guests should also be observant of check-in times to ensure housekeepers have ample time to prepare rooms, further contributing to the quality of their stay. Moreover, regular maintenance and upkeep of amenities like showers and windows ensure everyone enjoys a pleasant stay. By being a conscious guest and showing respect to hotel employees, you contribute to a positive atmosphere that benefits everyone involved while making the most of your hotel experience.
