Okay real talk does having a destination wedding automatically make you the bad guy?
We’re originally from Texas, but thanks to our careers and his family’s , we’re constantly moving (hello, New Mexico now… Florida next 👋). So when it came time to plan our wedding, we said: why not do something fun, beautiful, and totally us? Hello, Cabo 🇲🇽🌴
My side of the family? Already packing. My bestie? Booking her flight. His parents and sister? Can’t wait.
But… some of his friends and extended fam? Probably not coming. And that’s okay we get that not everyone can drop everything for a trip to Mexico.
Still, I can’t help but worry some people are going to throw shade. Like, “Oh they knew we couldn’t afford it” or “Wow, must be nice.”
I also feel like I’ll be lowkey blamed because let’s be honest brides usually get more say 😅
We’ve given over a year’s notice, told everyone there’s zero pressure, and honestly? We just want to celebrate our love somewhere that feels special.
So I gotta ask:
Are we selfish for doing what we want? Or is everyone else just being dramatic?
