I remember thinking, "It's just so cozy in here," as I settled down after a fun evening of gaming and pizza. But then, as the night wore on, that persistent ringing sound from the nearby towers started. Honestly, it was so annoying, and it literally woke me up out of my sleep multiple times. I didn't have a good sleep at all because of that ringing sound – I was just so irritated! I tossed and turned all night, which was really, really annoying. It’s those moments that truly test your vanlife resilience! One of the biggest lessons I've learned about stealth camping, especially in urban environments, is that peace and quiet aren't always guaranteed. You might find a spot that feels secure, but then unexpected noises, like that drone from the towers, can completely disrupt your rest. My advice? Always have a backup plan. I now keep a pair of good noise-canceling headphones or earplugs handy. They've been lifesavers on more than one occasion. It’s also crucial to do a quick scout of your chosen spot before settling in for the night. Look for industrial areas, construction sites, or even busy roads that might generate consistent noise. Sometimes, moving just a block or two can make a world of difference. Despite the noisy night, waking up to the "bright in my face" morning light still feels like a fresh start. And even after being irritated from lack of sleep, it's those simple comforts that make vanlife worth it. My little setup inside the van truly felt "cozy in here" when I first got settled. It’s amazing how a few personal touches – a comfy blanket, my gaming console, and a good pizza – can transform a small space into a sanctuary. When packing everything for vanlife, I always prioritize items that bring comfort and a sense of home, no matter where I am. That's my "girl math" for living on the road – prioritize joy and practicality! Speaking of "girl problems," vanlife definitely comes with its own unique set, especially when you’re on your own. From finding safe and private spots for personal care to ensuring overall security, it’s a constant consideration. I've learned to trust my gut feeling about locations and always have multiple options in mind. Connecting with other solo female vanlifers has been invaluable for sharing tips and building a sense of community. It helps to know you’re not alone in navigating these specific challenges. Even with the occasional rough night, I had an overall good stay. It's all part of the adventure. I'm just happy to be back, ready to get on the road with you guys, and move onto the next adventure. I've got a planned trip coming up – a fishing trip, actually! So please stay tuned for that. Every challenge is a learning opportunity, and it makes the good moments, like the anticipation of a new destination, even sweeter. This journey is all about embracing the unexpected and finding joy in the simple things, even when a persistent ringing sound tries to steal your sleep.
