The apartment views I was lucky enough to experience in Alfama weren't just about the panoramic cityscapes; they were also about looking down onto these very streets, seeing the intricate patterns of the blue tiles, the clotheslines strung across alleys, and the terracotta rooftops stretching towards the Tagus River. Many of the best views, both of the city and of these charming blue-tiled streets, come from the Miradouros (viewpoints) scattered throughout the district, or even from the balconies of local apartments. It’s an experience that perfectly blends history, art, and the relaxed pace of Portuguese life. Every turn offers a new perspective, and you’re bound to find your own version of Lisbon’s captivating blue charm. It’s the perfect place for a solo traveler to soak it all in.
