... Read moreWow, what an incredible weekend at the World of Wheels Chattanooga 2025! If you're into classic cars and custom builds, this is definitely a show you don't want to miss. The energy was amazing, and there were so many stunning vehicles, but one, in particular, completely captured my attention and truly deserved all the accolades it received.
I'm talking about 'Old Yeller,' a magnificent bright yellow 1952 Ford F-1 pickup truck. From the moment I spotted it on the checkered floor, gleaming under the show lights, I knew it was something special. The owner had both the driver's door and hood open, giving everyone a perfect view of the meticulously detailed engine and the pristine chrome components. You could tell just how much passion and hard work went into every single aspect of this build. The front view was especially striking, highlighting its classic grille and the flawless yellow paintwork. It truly embodied the spirit of a perfectly restored classic.
What really impressed me were the awards 'Old Yeller' took home from the ISCA Summit Racing Equipment Show Car Series. It wasn't just one, but three major awards at the 57th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels in Chattanooga, TN! First off, it secured 'First in Class,' which for a vintage truck in such a competitive show, is a massive achievement. This award speaks volumes about the overall quality and authenticity of the restoration and customization.
Then there was the 'Outstanding Paint' award. And believe me, it was well-deserved. The vibrant yellow finish was absolutely immaculate, a deep, glossy hue that seemed to radiate light. There wasn't a single blemish, and the attention to detail in the paint application was evident from every angle. It definitely set the bar high for paint quality at the show.
Finally, 'Old Yeller' also clinched the 'Outstanding Interior-Truck' award. When I peeked inside, with the passenger door also open, I could see why. The custom interior was a masterclass in design and comfort, blending classic aesthetics with modern touches seamlessly. The craftsmanship was superb, from the upholstery to the dash, making it both beautiful to look at and likely a joy to sit in. The display board mentioned it was a 1952 Ford F-1 5 Star Deluxe Cab, and seeing the interior, it certainly lived up to that deluxe title.
It's not every day you see a vehicle so perfectly executed across the board. The World of Wheels, presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts and Weil Wrecker Service, truly brings out the best in custom automotive artistry, and 'Old Yeller' was a shining example of that. It’s a testament to the dedication of enthusiasts who preserve and enhance these automotive treasures. My visit to the Chattanooga car show this year was definitely made memorable by this incredible pickup and its well-earned triumphs. If you ever get the chance to experience the World of Wheels, I highly recommend it – you might just find your own 'Old Yeller' to admire!
