Body recomposition ☺️

... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you have asked about my journey, and I’m excited to dive deeper into what body recomposition truly means and how I tackled it over these past five months. When I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of building muscle while also trying to reduce body fat. It felt like walking a tightrope, but I quickly learned it's absolutely achievable with the right approach and a lot of consistency. For those unfamiliar, body recomposition isn't just about weight loss or muscle gain; it's about doing both simultaneously. Instead of focusing solely on the number on the scale, it's about seeing a real shift in your physique – losing inches, gaining definition, and feeling stronger. My goal was very specific: to achieve increased muscle definition, especially in my glutes, and become leaner overall. Looking back at my early stages photos, it’s amazing to see the fitness progress! My routine centered around progressive overload in my strength training. For glute gains, this meant consistently challenging myself with heavier weights and varying exercises like squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, and lunges. I trained 4-5 times a week, ensuring I hit each muscle group effectively while giving my body enough time to recover. It's not about endless hours in the gym, but smart, intense sessions. Nutrition played an equally vital role. I focused on a high-protein diet to support muscle repair and growth, ensuring I was eating enough healthy fats and complex carbohydrates for energy. I aimed for a slight calorie deficit on some days and maintenance on others, listening to my body and adjusting as needed. This approach helped me shed fat while fueling my muscle development. It's a delicate balance, but experimenting helped me find what worked best for me. One of the biggest lessons I learned on this 5-month body transformation journey was to look beyond the scale. The 'body recomposition scale vs mirror' debate is so real! The scale might not always show a drastic drop in weight because muscle weighs more than fat. Instead, I relied heavily on progress photos (like my before & afters!), how my clothes fit, and tracking my strength in the gym. These non-scale victories were incredibly motivating and truly reflected my increased muscle definition and overall leaner physique. For other women embarking on their own body recomp journey, my biggest advice is patience and consistency. Don't expect overnight miracles. A realistic 5-month body transformation takes dedication. Focus on building strength, nourishing your body, and celebrating every small victory. If you're just starting out in the early stages of body recomposition, prioritize mastering form, understanding basic nutrition, and finding a workout routine you enjoy. Remember, every body is different, and your journey will be unique. Keep pushing, keep documenting your fitness progress, and trust the process! You’ve got this!
