fireeee day of eating for day 18/66 trying to heal my gut. Crohn’s disease isn’t stopping us from nourishment and building muscle 👏 #gymshark66 #guthealth #periodrecovery #crohnsdisease #wieiadhealthy
Living with Crohn’s disease while pursuing fitness goals can be challenging, but focusing on gut-healing foods and balanced nutrition has made a huge difference in my journey. I’ve found that incorporating mostly raw, organic whole foods such as beets, carrots, apples, and spinach helps reduce inflammation and supports digestion. Including gut-friendly supplements like probiotic seeds and bone broth has also improved my gut lining integrity and overall energy. My day usually starts with a nutrient-packed raw juice and gut shot—a combination of beets, carrots, and an apple-ginger blend—that provides antioxidants and supports gut motility. For pre-workout fuel, I prefer Greek yogurt with frozen blueberries, rice cakes, and a drizzle of honey for steady energy release without upsetting my stomach. Post-workout, grilled chicken combined with a fresh homemade dressing made from coconut oil, vinegar, and Italian seasoning keeps my meals flavorful and nutritious while aiding muscle recovery. I add walnuts and egg whites for extra protein and healthy fats. Dinner is all about nourishment with bone broth, lentils, wild black rice, and sautéed onions and scallions, which provide fiber and minerals crucial for gut repair and immune support. Nutritional yeast is a great addition for B vitamins and enhances flavor. This holistic approach to eating—balancing raw and cooked whole foods, understanding how to time meals around workouts, and focusing on gut health—has helped me stay on track with both my muscle-building and period recovery despite the challenges of Crohn’s disease. Listening to my body and adapting my diet accordingly is key to long-term healing and performance.
