How i grew my hair 🎀

From my personal experience, the biggest game-changer was shifting focus from just growth to retention. This means protecting the hair you already have and minimizing damage. One of the first changes I made was decreasing heat styling. Using heat protectants whenever heat was unavoidable really helped. Also, I switched to a bamboo brush which, surprisingly, reduced my breakage quite a bit. The smoother bristles seem gentler on hair strands. I incorporated sleeping on a silk pillowcase or wearing a bonnet at night, which helped reduce friction and hair loss while sleeping. Another routine that made a difference was applying hair oil on the ends before braiding my hair to keep it moisturized and protected overnight. Taking care of the scalp was equally important. A healthy scalp fosters better hair growth. I made sure to wash my hair regularly without letting product buildup sit too long. For flaky scalp issues, I found gentle exfoliation and products like Nizoral to be very effective without overusing heavy oils that can clog follicles. Beyond topical care, I focused on nutrition because hair is made of protein, and it needs proper nutrients to thrive. Increasing my protein intake ensured I was giving my body the building blocks it needed. Iron was another critical nutrient, as it helps carry oxygen to hair follicles promoting healthy growth. Consistency was key. Over time, these combined efforts led to noticeable improvements. If you’re on a similar journey, I’d recommend prioritizing hair retention strategies alongside proper nutrition — it’s the combination that really makes your hair flourish.

Okay thank you for this but I have a few questions: 1. Is it okay to use a satin bonnet instead of silk? 2. What shampoo and conditioner should I use? 3. Where can I buy a bamboo brush (cuz I rlly want one) Okay tysmmm
