Honest Wedding Food Review: Clifford Pier ✏️

Is a $390 wedding dinner at Clifford Pier worth it?

I attended a wedding at /The Clifford Pier at /The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore and reviewed every course served that night.

This was a Chinese wedding dinner with individually plated courses, which is quite rare since most banquet style weddings are still family style sharing. At $390 per person, expectations were naturally very high.

Overall, the experience leaned more fine dining than a traditional banquet. Some dishes really stood out, while others felt just okay. Portions were generous, presentation was beautiful, but consistency mattered more than luxury ingredients.

Overall rating

4 out of 5 ⭐

It was honestly better than my own wedding dinner, but at this price point ($390 per pax) I would still budget carefully. Inviting at least 150 people to a wedding at this venue means (1) you're pressuring them to give a large angbao; (2) you should expect not to break even with guest angbaos.

If you are shortlisting Clifford Pier at Fullerton Bay or attending a similar premium wedding, this gives a pretty realistic idea of what the dinner experience is like.

I really wish I had seen more honest guest perspectives like this when planning my own wedding. 🥲

... Read moreWhen considering Clifford Pier for your wedding dinner, it’s important to factor in not just the food but the overall value and guest expectations. From my experience, while the presentation and portion sizes were impressive, some dishes such as the lobster noodles didn’t quite meet the freshness standard I hoped for. This kind of honest feedback is crucial when planning, as every dish contributes to your guests’ delight. I also noticed that unlike traditional family-style banquets, Clifford Pier offers individually plated courses, which adds an element of refinement but may extend serving times. If you’re budgeting around $390 per person, remember this is quite premium and invites financial expectations on guests, including large angbaos. That means your guest list size needs careful planning to balance costs without putting pressure on attendees. From a venue perspective, The Fullerton Bay Hotel and Clifford Pier provide a stunning setting that complements the fine dining ambiance. For couples seeking a blend of elegance and culinary quality, this venue stands out, but I’d still recommend sampling the menu beforehand and setting realistic expectations about consistency across courses. Lastly, I found the dessert choice of mango cream unique and refreshing, though served slightly melted. It’s little nuances like these that can affect the overall dining impression. If you value fine dining aesthetics, personalized plating, and generous portions, Clifford Pier is an excellent option. However, ensure your budget and guest list align with the price point to truly make the most of this lavish experience.

The foie gras (on the iberico) was on point though.
