Hey everyone! So thrilled to be diving into this new chapter – both college and my journey here on Lemon8. As a future freshman from NYC, I'm genuinely 'chasing new experiences' in every sense of the phrase! It’s a mix of excitement, a little bit of nerves, and a whole lot of anticipation for what's to come. One of the biggest 'new experiences' I’m looking forward to is meeting new people and making lasting friendships. I’ve seen so many posts about navigating college life, and I’m soaking up all the wisdom. Like in my profile pic, where I'm smiling on a light green background, I'm ready to embrace all the changes with an open heart. What are your top tips for building a strong social circle in a new environment, especially when you're starting fresh? Beyond academics, I’m also eager to explore new hobbies and interests. My 'Things I Love' collage (from my other posts!) hints at some of my current passions – whether it's traveling, trying out new fashion trends, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of tea. I’m wondering, what are some unique extracurriculars or clubs you discovered in college that really enriched your experience? I'm picturing myself trying out a new sport or maybe even joining a creative writing group to cultivate new skills! On the more practical side of 'chasing new experiences,' I'm trying to prepare for the independence that comes with college. From managing my own schedule – balancing studying on a laptop, making time for healthy meals (yes, eating fruits!), and still finding time for creative outlets like crocheting or trying new makeup looks – it feels like a lot! Any hacks for staying organized and well-balanced? Especially for someone who loves to try a bit of everything, as you can probably tell from my collages filled with colorful squiggles and fun emojis. It's not all sunshine and butterflies, though. I'm also a little nervous about navigating a completely new environment for my studies, even though NYC is home. It’s one thing to live here, another to experience it as a full-time student. Are there any apps or resources you recommend for freshmen to stay safe and make the most of their surroundings, particularly in a big city? I want to make sure I'm prepared for both the academic rigor and the practicalities of independent living, like budgeting and finding quiet study spots. I'm really hoping to use Lemon8 as a diary for these new adventures, and also as a place to connect. My 'Let's be...
