New immersive intergalactic experience in NYC 🪐🚀🔭🧑‍🚀

Get transported to another galaxy for $38 right here in NYC 🚀🛰️

INTER has transformed into an intergalactic adventure featuring over 10 immersive exhibitions and zones 🪐💫

My favorite new feature is the Infinity Room, where visitors are enveloped by mirrored walls and an array of lights, simulating the vastness of space 🧑‍🚀🔭

You’ll get to experience the eerie sounds of a black hole, specifically the sonifications of the Perseus galaxy cluster’s black hole, as captured by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory 👽🛸

These sound waves, previously inaudible to humans, have been transformed into audible frequencies, allowing visitors to “hear” the depths of space ☄️👾

Beyond the Infinity Room, INTER offers over ten other immersive exhibits. You can traverse a tunnel of bioluminescent flowers, bounce in a netted space called “The Vortex,” and explore alien terrains, each designed to transport you to another galaxy 🌌

📍415 Broadway, New York, NY (Entrance on Canal St)

🎟️ Tickets: $38 (timed entry)

⏰ Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 1 PM–7 PM; Thursday & Friday: 1 PM–8 PM; Saturday: 10 AM–8 PM; Sunday: 10 AM–7 PM; Closed on Tuesdays

Send this to someone you want to explore the cosmos with (without leaving NYC ofc!) ✨

... Read moreStepping into INTER NYC truly feels like being transported to another dimension, a complete sci-fi dream brought to life right in the heart of SoHo. This isn't your typical art exhibit where you just observe from a distance; here, you're part of the art, making every moment interactive and engaging. The entire space is transformed into a surreal intergalactic landscape, with over ten immersive zones designed to engage all your senses. My absolute favorite, as mentioned, was the Infinity Room. Standing amidst those endless reflections, surrounded by shifting lights, truly made me feel like I was floating in the vastness of space. It’s an incredible photo opportunity, but more importantly, a moment of pure wonder that completely surrounds you with endless reflections. And hearing the actual sonifications of the Perseus galaxy cluster’s black hole, thanks to audio recorded by NASA, added another layer of awe. It’s mind-blowing to think you’re experiencing sounds previously inaudible to humans, making the universe feel so much closer and more tangible. Beyond the Infinity Room, prepare to wander through a glowing tunnel of bioluminescent flowers – it’s like stepping into an alien garden directly from a fantasy novel! Then there’s 'The Vortex,' a giant netted area where you can literally bounce around, adding a playful, zero-gravity feel to your journey. The interactive generative art also means that every visit feels different, as the lights and sounds react to your presence, making it feel alive and futuristic. It’s completely unlike anything else in NYC. For anyone planning a visit, I'd highly recommend booking your timed entry tickets online in advance, especially for weekend slots, as this place gets popular! While the website suggests you can spend an hour or two, I found myself captivated for closer to two hours, taking my time to soak in each exhibit. Wear comfortable shoes, as you’ll be doing a fair bit of walking and bouncing! It’s a fantastic experience for a unique date night, a fun outing with friends, or even a solo adventure if you want to fully immerse yourself without distractions. Just remember to charge your phone – you'll definitely want to capture the magic! At $38, it might seem a bit steep, but honestly, for a truly unparalleled, interactive, and completely immersive escape from the city, it’s worth every penny. You’ll leave feeling like you’ve briefly journeyed across the cosmos, all without leaving Manhattan.
