What’s Blocking Your Salvation?
In the kingdom real wealth is saving souls

Do you ever find yourself asking deep questions about your spiritual walk, wondering why sometimes you feel distant from God? I know I have. It's a journey filled with ups and downs, and along the way, we often encounter subtle (and not so subtle) barriers that can block our connection and even our path to salvation. Through my own experiences and reflections, I've come to understand that these aren't always grand, dramatic events, but often everyday choices and habits. For instance, I used to think things like pride or holding onto grudges were just personal flaws, not necessarily 'barriers between me and God.' But then I realized how much bitterness and the refusal to forgive can truly harden your heart, creating a wall that prevents true spiritual growth. It's tough to let go, but the peace that comes from releasing those feelings is incredible. Similarly, envy can consume us, directing our focus away from gratitude and God's blessings. Then there are actions that, even if seemingly small, can chip away at our spiritual foundation. I've had to confront my own tendencies towards laziness when it came to spiritual disciplines, or how easily I could get caught up in gossiping, sharing unverified stories that hurt others. Even the music we listen to, sometimes called 'secular music,' can subtly shift our focus if its messages contradict our faith. I've learned the importance of being mindful of what I consume, whether it's through my ears or eyes. I also became aware of how often cussing or using harsh language could create a barrier, not just with others, but also in my own spirit. Other times, the barriers are much clearer, like lying, or more serious choices such as engaging in sexual immorality or getting drunk. These actions create a direct separation, and I’ve learned that ignoring conviction—that quiet voice inside telling you something isn't right—is a dangerous path. God truly honors our choices, even if they lead us away from Him. It’s a powerful realization that we have agency, and with that comes responsibility. Disrespecting parents or authority figures, or even outright unbelief and rejecting God's Word, are profound ways we can erect walls in our spiritual lives. Idolatry, whether it's loving possessions, status, or even relationships more than God, can also become a significant obstruction. The good news is, every single day is 'another chance to choose obedience to God.' It’s about being honest with ourselves, identifying these barriers, and consciously choosing to dismantle them. For me, that means regular self-reflection, prayer, and seeking guidance. It’s a continuous process of aligning my choices with God's will, knowing that He's always there, ready to welcome us back. Don't waste this precious opportunity to deepen your faith and strengthen your bond with the divine.
