30 𝖎𝖘 𝖈𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖌…

Tomorrow I will officially be 30 years old 😱 I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that just yet. I’m normally an “age is just a number” but as the years have passed and lost some loved ones along the way while also gaining some incredible human beings as well as my son. It puts a lot of things into perspective!

What advice do you have for 30+ year old?

I remember feeling a similar mix of excitement and a little bit of apprehension. It’s like a new chapter is about to begin, and you can’t help but look back at everything that led you here. One piece of advice I wish I had embraced more in my late twenties, gearing up for this decade, is to truly prioritize self-care. It’s not just about bubble baths and face masks – although those are great! It's about setting boundaries, learning to say no without guilt, and carving out consistent time for your mental and physical well-being. Your 30s often bring more responsibility, whether it’s professional growth, family life, or both, and having a strong foundation of self-care makes all the difference. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Another big one is financial literacy. It might sound boring, but understanding your finances, setting up a solid budget, and starting to think about long-term savings (even small amounts!) can provide such a sense of freedom and security. I’ve seen friends stress so much about money in their 30s, and honestly, a little planning goes a long way. It’s never too late to start learning about investments or simply building an emergency fund. Also, don't be afraid to revisit your friendships. Some friendships naturally fade, and new, deeper connections emerge. It’s okay to let go of relationships that no longer serve you and to invest more deeply in those that truly uplift and support you. Your circle might get smaller, but it often becomes much stronger and more meaningful as you grow into your authentic self. Career-wise, the 30s can be a time for significant growth or even a pivot. If you’re not passionate about what you do, or if you feel stuck, this is a great decade to explore new paths. It takes courage, but many people find their true calling later. I've learned that it's okay to not have all the answers, and sometimes the best decisions come from trusting your gut and pursuing what genuinely excites you, even if it feels unconventional. Finally, let go of the pressure to have everything figured out. Society often places unrealistic expectations on us by the time we hit 30. Your journey is unique, and it’s okay if it doesn’t look like everyone else’s. Embrace the journey, imperfections and all. Celebrate the small victories, learn from the challenges, and remember that ‘happy birthday to me’ isn't just about one day, but about celebrating the wonderful person you're continuously becoming. What are your biggest hopes for this new decade, and what wisdom are you carrying forward?
