Stitching Samplers The Original Tinder
One thing not often discussed is Stitching Samplers. They’re called a few different variations of that, but that’s what we’re going to call them here. Young ladies all made these to practice their skills they’d need as a wife and mother one day. Some families even displayed them and visiting young gentleman may take a gander and want to court one of the daughters based on their talents. Many samplers included the alphabet, Bible verses, quotes, numbers, and/or small pictures. I think I’ll have my daughter make one as she gets older to teach the skill, and use it to remember the history of them. Would you try your hand at this?
