My Three Favorite Cottagecore Shows

I know these aren’t necessarily “southern” but they do give that cottagecore vibe I feel like a lot of us really enjoy.

1. The Little House on the Prairie on Netflix. SO GOOD. I watched it in two days. I know some people are upset about the historical inaccuracies but let’s be real MOST historical shows have them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This was such a wholesome watch especially if you loved the books or the original series.

2. Anne With An E on Netflix has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. Anne of Green Gables was a favorite of mine growing up, but I don’t think you have to have previously enjoyed it to enjoy this.

3. The 2017 Little Women. I watched it on Prime. I loved it. I know everyone has their favorite versions, but I really enjoyed this one personally.

I found myself completely immersed in "The Little House on the Prairie" on Netflix; despite some historical inaccuracies, it offers a heartfelt look at pioneer life that feels authentic enough to be comforting. Watching it in just two days made me appreciate how such stories connect us to simpler times. "Anne With An E" truly stands out because it expands on the classic "Anne of Green Gables" tale with deeper themes of identity and belonging, making it relevant even if you didn’t grow up loving the original books. The cinematography and setting contribute beautifully to that whimsical cottagecore vibe, combining lush landscapes with touching character development. As for the 2017 adaptation of "Little Women" available on Prime, it offers a fresh, emotional take on the timeless story of sisterhood and resilience. The costumes and scenery are gorgeous and add to the period charm that cottagecore enthusiasts adore. Personally, these shows felt like a little escape from the fast-paced modern world, offering moments of reflection and calm. If you enjoy historical dramas with strong emotional storytelling set against scenic backdrops, these picks are sure to please. Plus, they’re all accessible via popular streaming services, making it easy to start your cottagecore marathon anytime!
