1 round loaf of crusty bread, (sourdough would be good too)
4 medium-sized jalapeño peppers, sliced thinly with the seeds removed.
1 8oz pack of cream cheese, frozen until firm enough to slice
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 scallion, thinly sliced
salt & pepper
Instructions:
Using a sharp serrated knife, slice a grid into the top of the bread- cutting down to the bottom of the loaf but not all the way through.
Stuff the peppers in each of the crevices, all the way down to the bottom. The more edges that have filling the better! Slice the cream cheese and stuff it in with the peppers. Continue with the scallions and then sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Add a bit of salt & pepper.
Bake at 375F for 15-20 minutes or until the cheeses are melted and golden. Serve warm.

Read moreIf you're looking for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a tasty snack, jalapeño pull apart bread is a fantastic choice that combines spicy, creamy, and cheesy flavors in one irresistible dish. One tip I've found helpful is choosing the right bread; while a round crusty loaf works well, sourdough adds a nice tang and hearty texture that complements the rich cheeses and spicy jalapeños.
When preparing the jalapeños, removing the seeds is essential if you want to control the heat level. For a milder version, you can even replace some jalapeños with sweeter peppers like mini bell peppers or banana peppers. The cream cheese being frozen before slicing helps so that it doesn't crumble when you're stuffing the bread, making the process neater and easier.
I also like to add a little garlic powder or smoked paprika to the seasoning for an extra layer of flavor that bakes into the bread with the cheeses. Scallions bring a fresh note, but you can also experiment with finely chopped fresh herbs such as cilantro or chives.
Baking at 375°F for about 15-20 minutes allows the cheeses to melt and brown beautifully without drying out the bread. Serving it warm is key since the melted cheese and soft bread together create the best eating experience. This recipe is not only quick to prepare but also incredibly versatile—you can add cooked bacon bits for smoky flavor or swap cheddar with pepper jack cheese for a sharp, spicy twist.
Jalapeño pull apart bread is perfect for game day, parties, or anytime you crave a hearty bite with a little heat. Plus, it pairs wonderfully with a cold beer or fresh salsa on the side for dipping, enhancing the enjoyment even more.
