You can easily customize the cream cheese filling by adding ingredients like garlic powder, shredded cheddar, or even chopped spinach for extra nutrition and flavor. The use of partially cooked bacon is a helpful tip, as it ensures the bacon crisps up nicely during the final broiling step without overcooking the chicken. When preparing this dish, pounding the chicken breast evenly to about 1/4" thickness is important—it helps the chicken cook completely and allows the cream cheese layer to stay uniformly stuffed inside without leaking out. Using toothpicks to secure the bacon wrap keeps everything together, but remember to remove them carefully before serving. For a complete meal, consider pairing this recipe with steamed vegetables or a light salad.
