INCREASE FOCUS IN 2 MINUTES

This is my favorite thing to do when that mid-afternoon slump hits (& it inevitably does every day 🙃). Plus you can do this anywhere, with no equipment

When we stand on one foot or test our balance in another way, our body perceives that as a slight stressor, increasing adrenaline 💥

Adrenaline is part of our fight or flight reaction. When we come across a challenge, our heart rate and breathing increases, pupils dilate, blood vessels constrict to raise blood pressure, palms may sweat, etc.

Overall, this reaction increases our focus & alertness

When we are able to successfully maintain balance, dopamine is released in our brain in response to the completion of that "goal".

Studies have shown a connection between dopamine levels and creativity, so when we release dopamine by successfully maintaining balance we can get our creative juices flowing more 🔋

Increase the difficulty of this practice by placing an object on the ground around you, then balancing on one foot to pick it up.

The goal is even bigger so the you’ll feel even cooler for completing the challenge.

ANYWAYS, give this a try next time you're feeling a creative block or are distracted.
