The risks of mammograms and what to do instead
The general recommendation as I get older will be to start getting regular mammograms every 1-2 years and even to be doing annual breast MRIs now.
It’s kind of crazy to me how many radiation heavy health screenings are recommended for people who otherwise have no symptoms/signs. To me, in that case, the risks outweigh the benefits. Radiation is a CAUSE of cancer, yet we are supposed to constantly expose ourselves to it to potentially detect cancer.
Instead, I opt to live a daily life of mindfulness around radiation exposure, eating foods that are good for fighting cancer, and mitigating stress. If I ever have any concerns, I would opt for thermography instead!

My mom had zero symptoms. None. A mammogram saved her life. By the time you have symptoms the cancer is advanced. Get the mammogram.
