🐾🐶🚚💕🎞️7.1.26 . Hello July . Yesterday was HOT ! At 9 am it was already feeling like 93 in Pennsylvania, I didn’t even have my normal routine of an iced coffee at all yesterday cause the weather just sucked . Just as soon as I’m done complaining about winter I’m complaining about summer . So we definitely stayed hydrated with lots of water and electrolytes . We put in some miles yesterday even though we were through the PA mountains. Today we deliver, and then pick up a new load that’s going cross country, so yeah when I say we’re busy , we’ve been staying busy #reels #passegerprincesslife #truckersdogslife #filmingmylife #overtheroadtruckinglife
Driving through Pennsylvania in the summer heat can be quite challenging, especially when temperatures rise to the nineties early in the morning. From my experience, managing hydration is absolutely critical—not just drinking water, but also replenishing electrolytes to maintain energy and prevent fatigue. I find that carrying electrolyte packets or sports drinks can really help during those hot days on the road. Traveling through mountainous areas like the PA mountains adds another layer of complexity. The elevation changes often mean fluctuating temperatures and extra strain on both the vehicle and driver. It’s important to plan regular breaks and vehicle checks to ensure safety. Personally, I make it a habit to check the radiator and tire pressure more frequently in these conditions—heat combined with mountainous terrain can lead to unexpected issues. What keeps me motivated during these long trips is the companionship of my dog. Having a furry friend along adds comfort and reduces loneliness on the road. It’s also a great excuse for taking breaks to stretch and enjoy some fresh air. For fellow drivers considering bringing pets along, ensuring they have plenty of water and a shaded resting place is key. When it comes to managing a busy schedule—delivering and picking up new loads—it’s all about balancing efficiency with self-care. Despite the hustle, I always remind myself to stay hydrated, eat balanced meals, and get sufficient rest to keep alert. With modern challenges like extreme summer heat, adapting routines is vital. Lastly, sharing these day-to-day experiences through video reels has been a wonderful way to connect with others in the trucking community and those curious about this lifestyle. It offers a real look at the ups and downs of the road, from weather struggles to the freedom of travel. If you’re passionate about trucking, consider documenting and sharing your journey; it’s rewarding and helps build supportive networks across the country.
