It’s comforting, knowing they want to be near you and are so devoted. Sometimes I wonder if it’s their hunting dog instincts kicking in, always aware of their surroundings and their 'pack leader.' And the 'dog watching owner attentively indoors' aspect? Oh, that’s a whole mood! Sometimes I swear he's trying to read my mind. Is he waiting for a treat? Is he hoping for a walk? Or is he just enjoying the quiet companionship? I've learned to interpret his various attentive stares. A sharp, focused gaze usually means he's anticipating something – perhaps I'm reaching for his leash or the treat jar. He might be curled up on his bed, but one ear is usually perked, and an eye might just crack open if I shift in my seat. They conserve energy, yes, but their minds are always active. Living with such an attentive companion means you're never truly alone, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Their loyalty and constant presence are truly special. It fosters an incredible bond that goes beyond words. Sometimes, their attentive gaze is simply a request for a gentle scratch behind the ears or a reassuring word, which I'm always happy to provide. Just make sure to give them plenty of outdoor exercise to balance their indoor resting, so they can truly relax and enjoy their downtime when they're inside with you.
