Sometimes They Don’t Miss You… They Miss Their Access to You. 💕

Somebody needed this reminder today. 💗 Not everyone who misses the old you actually misses you—sometimes they miss the version of you who tolerated too much, forgave without accountability, and was always available no matter how they treated you. Growth will make some people uncomfortable because the new you comes with boundaries. And that’s okay. You can still have love for people without giving them unlimited access to your life. Some people will simply have to learn how to love you from a different seat. 👑💕

... Read moreFrom my own experiences, I've noticed a profound truth echoed in this message: sometimes, what people really miss isn't you as a person, but the ease with which they could take your kindness and availability for granted. It took time for me to understand that growth means redefining relationships and setting boundaries—an essential part of self-love and protection. When I started saying no and stopped tolerating behaviors that disregarded my well-being, some people labeled me as 'different' or 'hard to reach.' But those boundaries weren't about distancing myself out of spite; they were about honoring my worth and expecting respect in return. This shift often causes discomfort for others used to unrestricted access to your time and forgiveness. Creating these boundaries made me realize that love doesn’t have to mean unlimited access—it means mutual respect, consistency, and reciprocity. Sometimes, people who once felt close drift apart because they cannot adapt to this new dynamic. It’s a natural part of becoming the best version of yourself. You don’t lose love; you simply change the terms on which it’s given and accepted. If you find yourself struggling with similar situations, remember: it’s okay for people to learn how to respect the new boundaries you set. Loving yourself first is not selfish; it’s necessary for healthy relationships. Your boundaries protect not just your peace but allow relationships to evolve into more meaningful connections founded on genuine respect rather than convenience or access.
