Hey fellow fog dwellers! So, you just watched my latest Mori compilation, and I hope you enjoyed all those satisfying finishes as much as I did putting them together. If you're new to Dead by Daylight or just curious about these epic end-game animations, let me share a bit more about what makes a 'Mori' so special in this game! For those who might not know, a 'Mori' (short for Memento Mori, which means 'remember you must die' in Latin) is a special kill animation a killer can perform on a survivor in Dead by Daylight. It's basically a super cool, often brutal, and always unique way to send a survivor to the afterlife without needing to hook them multiple times. Each killer has their own distinct Mori animation, and some are just incredibly iconic and terrifying to witness! How do you even get to perform a Mori, you ask? Well, there are a couple of ways. The most common is by bringing a Mori offering to the match. There are different tiers: a Yellow Mori (Cypress Memento Mori) lets you kill the last survivor after they've been hooked once. A Green Mori (Devout Memento Mori) lets you kill any survivor who's been hooked twice. And then there's the super rare Ebony Mori (Ebony Memento Mori), which allows you to kill any survivor after they've been hooked just once! It's a powerful tool, and seeing it play out is always a highlight of my streams. Beyond offerings, some killers also have perks or abilities that grant them a Mori. For example, if The Shape (Michael Myers) gets to Tier 3 Evil Within, he can Mori any survivor who has been hooked once. It's terrifying when he sneaks up on you for that! These special kills can really turn the tide of a match or just be an awesome way to finish off a particularly challenging survivor. What I love about collecting these Mori moments for my compilations is seeing the variety and the sheer artistry the game developers put into each one. From The Nurse's chilling 'blink' kill to The Huntress's axe to the head, or even The Artist's gruesome bird attack, they are all uniquely brutal. It adds so much character to each killer. Plus, let's be honest, sometimes after a really tough chase, landing that perfect Mori just feels incredibly satisfying! I often get asked about my favorite Mori. It’s hard to pick just one, but The Executioner’s (Pyramid Head) Final Judgment is definitely up there for its sheer brutality and how it ties into his character.
