A Fate I hope I never get forced into
A Fate Inked in Blood- Danielle L. Jensen
Star rating- ⭐⭐⭐
It took forever I feel like to finish this book.
While it was a good read towards the end, it was dragged out and I honestly feel like Jensen couldn't figure out what else to add to the book, so she added unnecessary battles.
This book gave me flashbacks of my mythology course in college, which is okay but this book was SO confusing. Way too many pieces in the puzzle and I still feel like some pieces are still scattered in random places.
The "love story" wasn't good either I feel like. Yes, Bjorn and Freya are cute together, but the entire time I felt like things were lacking. It was more lust-worthy than anything else and while that's all great and stuff, it just didn't do it for me.
HOWEVER... The ending left me speechless and questioning what's to come next. Will I read the next book when it releases? I'm still deciding that. I didn't really feel connected to the characters in this book so I might not (but that feeling might change).
I didn't trust any of the characters at all honestly, and I had good reason not to. They all were using Freya and not recognizing her true potential. I think she's a badass warrior who deserves more recognition instead of being used for everyone else's personal gain.
Jensen also put in deaths, but I feel like they weren't that great??? That's just my opinion though, I'm sure others read this book and was connected to the characters.
Overall, the book was okay but I'm not in love with it. I wish I didn't buy the hardcover book and the Kindle version because I'd honestly DNF it, but I didn't. Besides, the hardcover book has sprayed edges so I OF COURSE had to buy it 😂
If you like mythology, and complex stories, then for sure this is the book for you. 😁😄😃
