This book particularly stood out to me because it blends heart-pounding action with deep emotional conflicts, especially through Poppy’s interactions with Casteel and her ongoing struggle with her mother. Poppy's discovery of her being a primal adds an intriguing layer to the story. It opens up new facets of her character and powers that genuinely surprised me. As a fan who enjoys complex fantasy worlds with strong character development, this element made the narrative feel fresh and exciting. What I also appreciate is how Armentrout handles the cliffhangers. After the last book, I was braced for some resolution, but instead, the tension escalates further. This technique of storytelling keeps readers engaged and eager for what comes next without losing sight of the emotional stakes. Moreover, the dynamics between Poppy and Casteel are compelling—they showcase not only the romantic tension but also their individual growth amid external conflicts. Readers who love romance intertwined with fantasy battles will find this series particularly satisfying. From a personal perspective, this book reminded me of why I love immersive fantasy series: the blend of magic, war, romance, and character evolution. If you enjoy narratives that keep you guessing and introduce new twists while deepening existing relationships, this series is well worth your time.
