Some words of wisdom ❤️

I think we are all always going to be works in progress. Ever evolving, ever changing, always learning...and even though sometimes the lessons are painful, sometimes the pain is a good teacher. I think we forget to look at the things we are going through as just part of the process of change. It's not love that hurts, it's just some people dont know what to do with it when they touch it and have it in their hands. Love is fragile enough it can slip just like sand through your fingers. In the wrong hands, it can shatter.

Over the last ten years, I've lived through a lot. I escaped a very unhealthy, abusive relationship and drove into the next one head first because I couldn't bear to be alone or look in the mirror and realize the truth. It took me ten years of failed relationships, heartbreak, loss, pain, and self loathing to realize what I think I kinda knew all along.

You can't spend every minute wishing you can go back and do things differently. You can't look back and wonder what would have happened if you'd gone left instead of right. All you can do is dig through the bad days, because when you finally get to the good days, and please believe me...they are there...they make everything worth it. Just being able to appreciate the journey and all the hard work you out in to get to where you are is the icing on the cake. And like my mother says, I am strong, I am worthy, I matter, and I really like cake. 💖
