Let’s Talk: Console Table Decor!

Do you have a console table in your home!?

Is it more for aesthetics or functionality?

What is currently on your console table?

When I think of the word ERA, I think of something temporary and I want to always be obsessed with home decor, but I feel like I’m taking it most serious during the time when I don’t have an endless pit of money to decorate my house, but that’s OK. God’s timing is not my timing and I’m patient!

Anywayyyyyy lol. I feel like console tables have truly changed throughout the years. Back in the day the console table was definitely the messy part of the house in most busy homes. It was where there was a huge “catch-all” tray and everyone would throw their keys, wallets, Chapstick, gum, mints, money, sunglasses, lighters, dog leashes…you name it. You knew 9/10 if you were missing something small it was more than likely in that tray ha ha.

I think today it’s turned into more of a statement piece that catches your eye as soon as you walk into someone’s home, and I do love that. Sometimes I wish I could have a balance of a catch all area as well as decor, but if I had to choose, I’d rather something easy on the eyes.

The first picture is my current layout, which is pretty bare bones because I use our console table from our previous home, as well as the mirror we used to have above it. The second three images are inspo (I do not own these images) and they display a few things that I would like to have on there. The last image is the from our previous home and it’s the way I had our table set up which now looking back at it, was so underwhelming and I could’ve done better but I loved it so much at the time lol.

Here’s what I want on the table this time:

1. An appropriate sized lamp for the area.

2. A ceramic vase, with either faux or real eucalyptus, or maybe even olive tree stems.

3. A candle that will actually get burned 😂

4. Three individual candles sticks in holders that are solely for decor.

5. Possibly two stacked books with either a statement piece on top or a catch all tray.

Let me know your thoughts!

... Read moreConsole tables have evolved from cluttered catch-all spaces to elegant statement pieces that enhance home aesthetics. When decorating your console table, consider incorporating balance and functionality. Start with a stylish lamp that fits your space and adds ambiance. A ceramic vase filled with eucalyptus or olive branches brings a touch of nature indoors while maintaining a chic look. Adding a few candles can introduce warmth and character, showcasing your taste while also providing light. Opt for decorative candle holders for a sophisticated upgrade. To enhance the visual intrigue, consider stacking two books topped with a unique decorative item or a minimalist catch-all tray. This gives your console table a layered look, balancing beauty and practicality. For inspiration, browse social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest, where many creators share their decor styles. Utilize hashtags such as #consoletableideas and #homedecor to find ideas tailored to your taste. The decor is really cute. I do not have a consult table. I feel like I just don’t have space for it.
