Resources I used during Nursing School
📖 Slide 1: Picmonic
It turns the information you need to know into cartoon stories with rhymes that help you remember.
📖 Slide 2: Quizlet
It lets you create your own quizzes and you can go back and test yourself on information.
📖 Slide 3: Kaplan
It has a lot of NCLEX style practice questions. You can take practice tests and after each answer it gives you a detailed explanation as to why every answer is correct or incorrect.
📖Slide 4: Nursing.com
Similar to the previous slide but is designed to resemble the actual NCLEX, so you will have a familiarity advantage when sitting for the real test.
📖Slide 5: RegisteredNurseRN YT Channel
Nurse Sarah was a lifesaver for me during nursing school. She explains things so well and makes it easier to understand.
I also used flash cards for EVERYTHING.
Good luck, and remember it’s okay to fail a couple tests. It doesn’t mean you’re going to be a horrible nurse. Just keep studying and don’t give up. 🤍 You got this!

Nursing school can be a challenging journey, and access to the right resources is essential for success. Several tools can make a significant difference in your studies. For instance, Picmonic uses visual storytelling to help memorize complex medical information through engaging cartoons and rhymes, which is beneficial for retaining knowledge over time. Quizlet allows you to create custom quizzes, making revision interactive and tailored to your specific needs. By practicing with these quizzes, students can revisit topics they're struggling with until they gain confidence in their understanding. Kaplan is another invaluable resource, featuring numerous NCLEX-style practice questions that provide not only practice but also detailed explanations for test answers, enhancing comprehension. Additionally, platforms like Nursing.com offer a simulation of the actual NCLEX examination, familiarizing you with the test format and question types, which can reduce anxiety on test day. Online resources such as the RegisteredNurseRN YouTube channel, where Nurse Sarah shares invaluable insights and study tips, can also provide great support throughout your nursing journey. Lastly, the old-school method of using flashcards for vital concepts cannot be underestimated; they reinforce knowledge through repetition. Remember, perseverance is key in nursing school, and these resources can aid you in navigating through your studies effectively!
