Waiting for marriage

My whole life growing up religious I was told to wait for marriage. Seggs is between you and your husband only. That was drilled into my brain though was told it was always my decision as I got older. Neither on my parents waited but that’s why they tried so hard to have me wait.

I didn’t start dating until I was 23. I had my first boyfriend who had a body count I didn’t mind since it was low and said he regretted it and wanted to wait so I agreed to date him. A few months into the relationship he started getting really physical and testing boundaries. He knew I wanted to wait but he kept trying to break me. I left him.

Now I’m 26 and thinking I’ve kept it this long might as well wait for marriage. A few more boys later I found one I really liked and we got along great but he straight up told me he wasent willing to wait. So we agreed it wouldn’t work.

My now bf has an even smaller body count and said he’d wait for me. It’s only been 2 months but he hasn’t tried anything even stopped me when kissing was getting to intense.

Some people say ride the car before you buy it but I’m waiting. They say seggs with the right person is the best ever and well worth the wait. So I’m waiting I know it’s for the best.Dallas

Many people who decide to wait emphasize the importance of establishing trust and emotional connection first. This approach can lead to stronger, more respectful relationships. It's common to face challenges when trying to wait for marriage, such as pressure from partners or societal norms encouraging earlier intimacy. However, setting clear boundaries and communicating openly with partners, as shown in this story, can foster mutual respect and understanding. This can help ensure both parties are comfortable and on the same page. Studies suggest that couples who wait to have sex tend to report higher relationship satisfaction and better communication. For those considering waiting, it's helpful to find partners who share similar values. Feeling respected and supported by your partner, as mentioned with the current boyfriend who respects the decision to wait, is crucial. Open dialogues about expectations and comfort levels pave the way for healthy and honest relationships.
