From my experience, books that touch on taboo subjects need careful handling to avoid alienating the audience. The portrayal of familial intimacy in this case came across as neither romantic nor tasteful, which is a big turnoff for me personally. I believe a story can still be compelling without venturing into such sensitive territory that challenges readers’ moral comfort zones. That being said, I can understand why others may find value in complex character dynamics or appreciate the bravery of addressing taboo topics. Still, I recommend readers exercise discretion and consider their own sensitivities before diving into books containing themes of incest, even if presented fictionally.
