This job said ‘create content’ and I took that personally 🧍🏻♀️
Okay, so you guys know how intense that ‘create content’ brief can be, right? Especially when it’s your first day as a social media manager! I remember feeling like I had a million ideas but only two hands and not enough hours in the day. It’s like, 'POV: You’re a social media manager, and the content creation pressure is REAL!' But over time, I’ve discovered some absolute game-changer social apps that make my life so much easier – and my content so much better! When I first started, I was totally overwhelmed by all the different platforms and tools out there. What do you even use to make content that actually pops? I quickly learned that having a solid toolkit of recommended social apps is essential for any aspiring or current social media manager. For visual design, Canva is my absolute ride-or-die. Seriously, if you're not using it, you're missing out! It’s perfect for creating stunning graphics, Instagram Stories, and even quick videos. The templates save so much time, and it makes me look like a design pro even when I'm just winging it. Another one I swear by for quick edits is Lightroom Mobile. It’s amazing for getting that consistent aesthetic across all my photos, ensuring everything looks polished and on-brand. Video content is non-negotiable these days, right? For short-form videos, CapCut has become my go-to. It’s so user-friendly, and the editing features are surprisingly powerful for a free app. I can add trending sounds, cool transitions, and text overlays in minutes. For longer or more complex videos, I sometimes dabble with InShot, which offers a bit more control. Then there's the planning and scheduling side of things. Trust me, you need this to stay sane as a social media manager! I've tried a few, but I really like Later for Instagram scheduling – it lets you visually plan your feed, which is a lifesaver for maintaining a cohesive look. For managing multiple platforms and getting those analytics insights, Hootsuite or Buffer are excellent recommendations. They help me keep track of what's working and what's not, allowing me to tweak my strategy on the fly. And let's not forget about staying inspired and finding new trends! TikTok and Pinterest aren't just for scrolling; they're goldmines for content ideas. I use them constantly for brainstorming hooks, visual concepts, and seeing what's resonating with different audiences. Sometimes, just five minutes on Pinterest gives me enough ideas for a whole week of content! My biggest piece of advice for anyone stepping into the social media manager role, or just looking to up their content game, is to experiment with different social apps. Find what works best for your workflow and your brand. It’s all about making that 'create content' brief less daunting and more exciting. These apps have truly transformed how I approach my job, turning what felt like an impossible task into something I genuinely enjoy. What apps are you guys loving right now? I'm always on the lookout for new recommendations!
