- Keep Cortisol in Check 🌿📊
Hey babes,
I’ve got to tell you about my wild ride figuring out cortisol, aka the stress hormone.
A few months back, I was feeling super tired, anxious, and my mood was all over the place.
After some digging, I found out it was all about cortisol.
When it's high, you get weight gain, sleep issues, and anxiety; when it's low, you feel super fatigued and moody.
To fix this, I revamped my diet with proteins, healthy fats, complex carbs, leafy greens, and adaptogens. Plus, I started practicing mindfulness, chilling in nature, sticking to a routine, and hanging out with family more.
These changes totally leveled out my energy, sleep, mood, weight, and skin.
If your cortisol feels off, do some research and make small, sustainable changes!
Every step toward balance is a win.

Cortisol is a crucial hormone that regulates various bodily functions, and understanding its balance is essential for maintaining good health. High cortisol levels can lead to symptoms such as unexplained weight gain, difficulty sleeping, anxiety, and digestive issues. Conversely, low levels of cortisol may manifest as chronic fatigue and mood swings. To manage your cortisol levels, focus on a balanced diet rich in high-quality proteins like fish, lean meats, and plant-based sources like beans and tofu. Incorporating healthy fats such as avocados and olive oil, along with complex carbohydrates from whole grains and leafy greens, can also support hormonal balance. Adaptogenic herbs, including ashwagandha and rhodiola, have been found beneficial in helping your body adapt to stress. In addition to dietary changes, prioritizing self-care practices is essential. Techniques such as mindfulness meditation, spending time in nature, and building a supportive social network can significantly reduce stress levels. It's also important to maintain a structured routine that promotes restful sleep. Signs of unregulated cortisol include weight gain around the abdomen, insomnia, increased anxiety, and frequent infections. Regularly monitoring your body’s signals can help in recognizing when your cortisol levels might be out of balance. For comprehensive wellness, making small, sustainable lifestyle adjustments can lead to significant improvements in your mental and physical health.
