From sparks to roommates that kiss😅🩷

I miss the old version of us sometimes.

Back then everything felt fun and adventurous because I didn’t see him every day.

Every hangout was exciting, we’d flirt for no reason, stay out late, do random stuff… it felt like an actual adventure just being around him.

Now I see him all the time…..yeah, I love him… but he does all the disgusting little things I never noticed before. It’s crazy how quickly the butterflies turned into disgust😅

I don’t want to go back, I just miss that spark, that excitement, the mystery.

Life’s comfortable now, but sometimes I wish we could bottle up those early days and just live in them for a sec…

Does anyone else feel this?

... Read moreIt's really common to feel nostalgic about the early days of a relationship when everything was new and thrilling. Those initial moments, filled with butterflies and the unknown, create lasting memories that can sometimes make the present feel a bit dull by comparison. When you start seeing your partner every day, that air of mystery naturally fades. You begin to notice the little quirks and habits—like burping, leaving dishes around, or other "disgusting" things—that didn't seem to exist before. While these moments can be jarring, they also mean you're living in a genuine, comfortable relationship rather than an idealized fantasy. I've definitely felt this shift myself. There was a time when every hangout was an adventure, full of spontaneous plans and playful flirting, which kept the excitement alive. But once we started living together, the romance transformed. The butterflies I used to feel sometimes turned into a kind of affectionate irritation—but underneath, the love remained strong. What helps is remembering that comfort and familiarity are a different kind of intimacy, one built on knowing each other deeply, flaws and all. If you miss that early spark but also want to keep growing your relationship, try revisiting those adventurous moments with your partner. Plan surprise dates, flirt like you did in the beginning, or even take little breaks apart to keep some mystery alive. It's okay to miss that fun, exciting phase—but don’t forget that love evolves and adapts; it doesn't have to stay exactly the same to be meaningful. So yes, missing the ‘old version’ of your relationship is totally normal. It’s a sign that you value the excitement and passion from those first days. But embracing the reality of living together—the good, the bad, and the quirky—can lead to an even deeper bond. Sharing these honest feelings, like in this post, helps create a supportive community where others feel understood and less alone in their relationship journeys.

Yes, that’s completely normal. Missing the old version of a relationship doesn’t mean you want it back, it just means you’re grieving a chapter that changed.
