Child in speech HELP
Does anyone have a child in speech therapy that uses a tablet ? I think they’re called ACC tablets ?? My child started speech around 20mo , it was early but I felt like early intervention was better than waiting it out. Started the wait list and eval at 18mo.
So we’re about to be 2 yr old, hasn’t made improvements on words but hand leads , and tries to gesture. Doesn’t point , wave , or do accurate signs but does “more” in his own way. It’s improvement even though it might not sound like much. Now they want to intervene with the tablet , any thoughts ???? My main concern is the tablet giving him another way out of using vocal communication. Asking if anyone else started the tablet and had luck with actually being vocal instead of just solely relying on the tablet. I understand at this point they’re just trying to get any communication possible but later will I have to ween him off of this tablet ? Please anyone else in speech that can give me any insight on the tablet use ? Also I feel like my child is so young and I don’t want to shove a tablet in his face🫤😭 help pleaseee. #childspeech #SLP #speechtherapytools
