She’s a fan of hide and seek
Where is the weirdest place you’ve found your cat hiding out?
We spent over 3 hours looking for this girl. We know she didn’t get out of the house, but nothing is more stressful than when the ol’ treat bag shake doesn’t have her come running full speed. Needless to say, she’s light enough that she sends it fully 6ft onto my clothes in the closet and then climbs to the top of a closet where I had a box with some old blanket fabric. So now we know Miss Mabel prefers a nice nap far from her annoyingly loud (her words not mine) brothers. #cats #closethideout
Cats are known for their love of hiding, which stems from their instinctual need for safety and comfort. Many cat owners experience the anxiety of searching for their pets in odd places, such as closets, boxes, or tucked away corners. This behavior is natural and often a sign that the cat feels secure in secluded spots. Hiding can also serve as a coping mechanism for cats who want to avoid loud noises, overstimulation, or sibling rivalry in multi-cat households. Providing safe, cozy spaces like covered beds, cat trees with enclosed areas, and quiet zones can help your feline friend feel more at ease. If your cat tends to hide frequently, it is important to ensure their environment is secure and they have easy access to food, water, and litter boxes nearby. Regular playtime and gentle encouragement to explore the house can also help reduce stress and strengthen your bond. Understanding your cat's hiding habits can prevent panic during those moments when they disappear from sight. Remember, patience and awareness are key to keeping your curious companion comfortable and secure in your home.
